Corydalis aurea (Golden Corydalis) - photos and description

General: Annual or biennial plants with a prostrate, much-branched growth habit. Plants glabrous. Stems reddish in colour.
Flowers: Flowers yellow, narrow in profile, irregular, and grow in dense racemes. Flowers measured to 17 mm long and spur 5 mm long.
Leaves: Leaves alternate, pale green, divided 3 times into lanceolate lobes. Leaves pale green or glaucous. We measured a leaf blade at 65 mm long by 20 mm wide.
Height: Spread listed in Budd's Flora to 45 cm, we measured plants to a spread of 59 cm wide, and to a height of 13 cm.
Habitat: Open woods and disturbed soil on forest edges, and roadsides.
Abundance: Common.
Origin: Native.
When and where photographed: We took the above photos on May 31st, roadside, Cypress Hills, about 450 km southwest of our home in Regina, SK.
