Hackelia floribunda (Stickseed) - photos and description

General: Woodland plant with an upright growth habit, somewhat weedy.
Flowers: Flowers cymose in upper leaf axils, are pale blue to white, we measured a flower at 6 mm diameter.
Leaves: Leaves alternate, lanceolate, reduced in size upwards. Lower leaves with stalks, upper are stalkless. Leaf highlighted in photo above was measured to 9 cm long by 17 mm wide. Top of leaves rough to touch, entire plant with short hairs.
Height: Height listed in Budd's Flora from 100 cm. We measured plants to 75 cm tall.
Habitat: Moist woods often on disturbed soil.
Abundance: Common.
Origin: Native.
When and where photographed: Took the above photos on July 31st in woods near creek, Cypress Hills, 450 km southwest of our home in Regina, SK.
