Prosartes trachycarpa (Fairybells) - photos and description

General: Woodland plant with an erect, branching growth habit. Stems pubescent or glabrous. Rhizomatous.
Flowers: Flowers white, single or in pairs, droop from end of stems, flower measured at 13 mm long.
Leaves: Leaves ovate, alternate, with cordate bases, clasp the stem. We measured a leaf at 6.5 cm long and 3 cm wide.
Height: Height listed in Budd's Flora from 30 to 80 cm. We measured plants to 29 cm tall.
Habitat: Moist woods.
Abundance: Common.
Origin: Native.
Synonym: Listed in some of the field guides we use as Disporum trachycarpum.
When and where photographed: Took the above photos on May 20th in mixed woods, Cypress Hills, 450 km southwest of our home in Regina, SK.
